I finally got the new theme online. It wasn’t the cheapest and the turn around time on getting it designed and online could have been a lot quicker but we live and learn.
Just thought I would fill you’s in on what I’m doing and why you should be doing the EXACT same thing….
I’m currently sorting out my profiles for…
* Friendfeed
* Digg
* Twitter
* LinkedIn
* YouTube
(If you scroll to the bottom of the sites you will find the links to all my profiles)
Why should you be doing it?
The answer is pretty simple…
If you have a blog or a website NO MATTER WHAT NICHE YOUR IN you should be trying to create presence online so that you can easily communicate with your prospects.
Yes you can collect name and emails and communicate that way but times HAVE changed and now that is no longer enough. Then again it all depends on what kind of relationship you want to build up with your prospects…
Ask yourself..
1) Do you want prospects who are very wary of you and don’t trust you that much
2) Do you want prospects who trust you, know you and like you and will pretty much trust you with anything you tell them…
Which one of those groups would be more likely to buy your stuff?
Word of warning though… never abuse that trust. All it takes is for you to recommend a shitty product or service and when that person has a bad experience you WILL be given the boot from their “circle of trust” (quote from Meet The Parents, I love that film)
It’s not enough just signing up for these services… You need to get to work on creating your profile, sharing your interests, your likes and dislikes. This enables you to let people in and know you on a personal level without having to ever meet them.
At the minute I just spending a few minutes each day editing my profile instead of doing it all in one go. Over the next couple of weeks there will be a complete picture of me and the person that I am.
If your in a range of different niches and have different “persona’s” hen all you have to do is take a little of your personality and add it t oeach persona.
Like everything have fun with it… it can have a major part on your entire online business.
There is nly so much trust you can build up through an email… so instead create blogs, make videos, podcasts, social networking profiles and interact with your prospects and customers.
Later,
Chris
